Indigenous Tourism Manitoba (ITM) exists to support and foster Indigenous tourism in the province. Aligned with Travel Manitoba and the Indigenous Tourism Association of Canada (ITAC), ITM provides leadership, shares stories, and offers support to strengthen Indigenous tourism businesses' contributions to Manitoba's visitor economy.
Indigenous tourism is experiencing significant growth and demand both locally and internationally and attributes this growth in most part to our Indigenous-led approach to building and sustaining the industry.
Indigenous tourism has the potential to change perspectives, preserve culture, language, and traditions and provides opportunities to improve the socio-economic environment for Indigenous communities. The College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Manitoba (CLPNM) is the professional regulatory body for Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) in Manitoba:
- We establish standards for practical nursing education program in Manitoba to ensure LPNs entering the profession have the knowledge, skills, and judgment they need for their roles.
- We grant licenses to Manitoba’s practical nurses, which includes evaluating each application for initial or renewed registration against the criteria for the profession.
- We establish professional standards and guidelines so that Manitobans can expect professional, competent, compassionate, ethical, and safe care from LPNs.
- We oversee the practice and conduct of practical nurses in Manitoba, which includes receiving and investigating complaints, and if necessary, taking action to protect the public.
The presentation will cover the Manitoba Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Pathway to Registration. Topics include:
- Self Regulation
- LPN Scope of Practice in Manitoba
- Registration Process, which includes:
- Applications Steps—NNAS and CLPNM
