Pre-Work:

Before creating a resume and cover letter for a particular job posting it is essential to reflect on one's experiences, one's skills and one's interests to determine a good fit for your next role. It is important to make the most of this transition period. The following list (far from exhaustive) is an example of agencies and organizations that can help you make the next step.

*Connect with local organizations:

*Connect with friends, neighbours, acquaintances and family to learn about possible opportunities.

*Follow industries and employers you are interested in on social media (LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram)

*Prepare a LinkedIn profile - don't know how?  Connect with an organization above or check out LinkedIn Help

Create a Resume to land your next job:

Now that you have had time to reflect on your experiences and your skills, creating a Master Resume is a good first step. List all your experiences (paid and unpaid) in a document that will grow as your career moves along.

The organizations listed above can help you, or you can find some help online. Be careful and critical of online resources (don't believe everything you see and read).

Quote from Earl Nightingale: "Never give up on a dream just because of the time it will take to accomplish it. The time will pass anyway."
